December 15, 2015 – InCoax Networks, a leading provider of equipment for broadband access over existing in-building coaxial cables, have received orders for its new RoomWiFi platform from hotels in Holland and Sweden. The orders cover 211 hotel rooms where room-based personal WiFi Access Points will be installed to ensure WiFi coverage for hand-held devices.

For a majority of travellers, free in-room Wi-Fi is ranked as the most important hotel service – higher than services such as free parking, noise-free zones and green products. Hand-held small devices do not reach existing WiFi Access Points, installed in hallways, due to low signal strength compared to a traditional Laptop. Many hotels are now considering room-based WiFi Access Points to meet the increasing numbers of hand-held devices, used for different types of streaming services.

The InCoax RoomWiFi platform gives hotels the opportunity to, cost-effectively, deliver high-speed room-based WiFi services to meet the guest demand on multi-device WiFi connectivity. It supports Infotainment systems, IPTV and Web-TV services.

The new platform contains Coax Link Manager for configuration and supervision of RoomWiFi Access Points, Coax Link Controller manages the in-hotel IP over Coax connectivity, ranging from 350 Mbps to 1400 Mbps. This makes the platform suitable for any type of hotel that wants to utilize its existing coaxial network infrastructure for modern IP services.
